OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) says that school makeup days do not need to go beyond June 19.
In a statement to KATU News, OSPI says they plan to make changes to school requirements, waiving the required 180 days to hold classes and minimum instruction hours.

"We plan to make it so districts are required to make up as much time as they can, but they do not have to go beyond June 19," Katy Payne with OSPI said. "They may go longer than that if they choose to. If school ends up being out for the remainder of the year, then most requirements would cease."
They have also canceled all state tests for the remainder of the school year, but plan to release further guidance for seniors that need to graduate on time.
"We are working really hard on getting technical guidance out to school districts regarding seniors. What we’ve said thus far is that districts should do everything they can to ensure their seniors stay on track to graduate during these closures," Payne said.
