COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — Select Chick-fil-A restaurants in North Carolina and South Carolina will be testing a new honey pepper pimento chicken sandwich. 

The new sandwich is a twist on the original Chick-fil-A sandwich and features an original Chick-fil-A Filet drizzled with honey, topped with Southern-style pimento cheese and served on a warm, toasted bun with mild pickled jalapeños.

Chef and culinary developers have been working on the recipe for more than a year, Chick-fil-A said. 

Chick-fil-A Chef Stuart Tracy said this is the first variation of the original sandwich that has been tested as a seasonal item. 

The new sandwich was unveiled Monday and will be tested limited time at participating restaurants in Upstate South Carolina and the Asheville, North Carolina area.
