KENNEWICK, Wash. — If you missed out on this weekend’s fair food drive-thru don't worry you will have another chance to get your hands on your favorite fair treats and this time you won’t have to wait as long.
Saturday’s event brought in hundreds of cars causing people to wait hours to get their fried goods, some drivers even left empty handed.
CG Public House Owner Shirley Simmons tells Action News the turnout was bigger than she and her team expected.
She wants the community to know they've regrouped and now have a new and improved plan.
“We heard what people wanted and we’re going to have more elephant ears more funnel cake straws we’re going to have more hand dipped corndogs when we ran out of elephant ears we had people in actual tears and it just broke our heart I can’t event tell you.” Shirley said.
The next drive-thru is scheduled for August 15th and Shirley says it’s going to operate a lot differently.
The week before the drive-thru community members will have the opportunity to pick up color coated car lanyards.
The lanyards will have the menu on them and each color will represent the hour you can swing by.
Only 45 cars are allowed per hour.
The event will go from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m then there will be a break for the staff to restock and the start up again from 4 p.m to 8 p.m.
Shirley says no one will be allowed to show up early.
The lanyards will be available at CG Public House the week before the event and there will be pick up locations all throughout the Tri-Cities.
Shirley says you cannot attend the event without the lanyard.
