KENNEWICK, Wash. — Officers of the Kennewick Police Department have arrested a teen accused of a drive-by shooting.
On May 24, around 10:15 a.m., officers investigated an unlawful discharge of a gun in the 1100 block of W. 10th Ave. in Kennewick. A male was observed discharging a gun from a vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
The Criminal Apprehension Team continued this investigation and determined a 16-year-old boy was the suspect. Officers also developed probable cause to arrest the teen for a drive-by shooting. This drive-by shooting occurred on Feb. 13 just before 11 p.m., in the 200 block of S. Harrison St. in Kennewick and no one was reported injured.
On May 25, at approximately 2:20 p.m., officers found the 16-year-old at the apartment complex in the 1100 block of W. 10th Ave. in Kennewick.
On-duty SWAT members, CAT & members of the Metro Narcotics Task Force assisted in arresting the teen. Officers conducted a search warrant for evidence at his apartment.
The teen has been booked into the Benton-Franklin Juvenile Justice Center for suspicion of Drive-By Shooting and an unrelated arrest warrant.
