Police: Toddler dead from accidental drowning in swimming pool
HERMISTON, Ore. - Police say a two-year-old child has died in an accidental drowning.
Hermiston police officers were called to 1214 E. Main Street Thursday around 9:49 a.m. for a report of a child who had drown in a swimming pool.
Emergency medics from the Umatilla County Fire District 1 were already on their way to the scene, police said.
According to reports, the girl was discovered in an in-ground swimming pool after she went missing from the yard. A family member immediately began CPR and emergency units were called.
Life-saving measures were being performed on the child when police arrived.
Police said the child died despite efforts from the family member, EMS and emergency personnel at Good Shepherd Medical Center.
Police say the child and her parents were from Utah visiting family when this incident occurred.
