TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- A Blizzard Warning has been issued for much of the area as heavy snow and gusty winds will strike the region throughout Saturday.
Experts with the National Weather Service are expecting an additional 5-10 inches of snow with winds between 20-30 mph. Gusts could be as strong as 45 mph.
The Blizzard Warning is for the following areas: Moses Lake, Ephrata, Othello, Quincy, Waterville, Mansfield, and Badger Mountain Road.
This Blizzard Warning covers the area between the Tri-Cities and Yakima regions.
Forecasters have set the Blizzard Warning to last until 7 p.m. Saturday evening.
Motorists should avoid travel on Interstate 90 between Vantage and Moses Lake today.
White out conditions and drifting snow could leave travelers stranded.
Bitterly cold wind chills today and tonight make this a potentially life-threatening situation.
Blizzard conditions on Highway 2 between Coulee City and Waterville will be equally dangerous with drifting snow and bitterly cold wind chills.
Do not travel. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you.
If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.
