RICHLAND, Wash. -- Action News has learned about the tragic death of a 16 year-old boy from Richland.

Parents of students who attend Richland High School received this letter about the incident.

    Parents,

It is with a heavy heart that I share that one of our students died of suicide the morning of Feb. 20. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

A statement will be shared with students regarding the student's death during first period on Feb. 21. We also will have counselors on site in the library to assist grieving students.

Everyone grieves differently, and we ask all Bombers to please take care of one another during this difficult time. We know suicide can be a difficult topic to discuss and process. Here is one resource you can use to help with any discussions you may have with your child.

If you need help, or need further information on how to help your child, please call 1-800-273-TALK, or, if it is an emergency, call 911.
