Boylston Fire at 58,000 acres; I-90 Westbound back open

KITTITAS -- The Washington Commissioner of public lands reports the Boylston Fire near I-90 in Kittitas County has grown to 70-80,000 acres.

As of Friday morning it had burned 58,000 acres.

Commissioner of Public Lands, Hilary Franz, says this is the busiest wildfire season we've ever seen in Washington.

The DNR says at least 150 firefighters are on scene and planes and helicopters will help fight the blaze today.

People in the areas of Auvil Fruit, Getty's Cove, and Wanapum State Park have been evacuated. Huntinger Road in Vantage is closed.

I-90 Westbound has reopened. A single eastbound lane is now open and the Department of Transportation says traffic is being piloted through the area.
