Car on natural gas line after a DUI crash

    RICHLAND, Wash. -- [Update 6:05 a.m.] Kennewick police say the driver of the red Durango is in critical condition.


    A car is on top of a natural gas line after a car crash at the intersection of Gage Blvd. and Steptoe St.

    Richland police say the impaired driver of a red Durango was trying to make a left turn onto Steptoe from Gage when he collided with a white sedan.

    The white 300c then smashed into the natural gas line.

    Police say they are investigating the crash as a DUI.

    The driver of the red Durango was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

    Police say the area will be blocked off for about two hours as they remove the white sedan from the gas line.
