Man dead, two injured following car crash near Walla Walla
WALLA WALLA, Wash. - One man is dead and two people are in the hospital following a car crash in Walla Walla County, according to reports.
The Walla Walla County Coroner's Office said 28-year-old Tyler Peterson died in the crash at the 2900 block of Russell Creek Road, around 12:30 a.m., Tuesday.
Action News has learned three people were in the car at the time of the wreck. One occupant, 29-year-old Gavin Rauch, was taken to Harborview Medical Center and a juvenile was taken to a local hospital for injuries.
Reports from the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office said the collision caused Russell Creek Road to close between Berney Drive and Foster Road while deputies investigated. Roads reopened around 8:50 a.m., Tuesday.
Investigators said alcohol may have been a factor in this crash.
The man's autopsy is scheduled for April 4, according to the coroner.
