[UPDATE 5/6] -- Kennewick Police have arrested Christopher Calvert, 44, of Hermiston, for the brutal murder of 76-year-old Clayton Wick.

Police say they were called to Wick's home on May 3 after a housekeeper discovered the murder scene.

Officers say it was clear that Wick was the victim of a homicide based on the violent scene found inside the home. Police say Wick died from blunt force trauma.

During the investigation, detectives discovered that the victim's vehicle had been taken from the residence. Officers were able to find out who was in possession of the vehicle and put out an arrest warrant for the suspect.

A short chase ended when Calvert crashed the vehicle. Police have booked Calvert into the Benton County Jail for suspicion of First Degree Murder.

Police say it appears that Calvert and Wick knew one another. Officers say the incident between the two men was a very violent scene.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
