Kennewick, WA — [UPDATE 5/6] -- Kennewick Police have arrested Christopher Calvert, 44, of Hermiston, for the brutal murder of 76-year-old Clayton Wick.
Police say they were called to Wick's home on May 3 after a housekeeper discovered the murder scene.
Officers say it was clear that Wick was the victim of a homicide based on the violent scene found inside the home. Police say Wick died from blunt force trauma.
During the investigation, detectives discovered that the victim's vehicle had been taken from the residence. Officers were able to find out who was in possession of the vehicle and put out an arrest warrant for the suspect.
Police say they managed to track the suspect, Calvert in the small town of Stevenson, Washington. Officers tried to stop Calvert and police say he tried to escape. A short chase ended when Calvert crashed the vehicle. Police have booked Calvert into the Benton County Jail for suspicion of First Degree Murder.
Police say it appears that Calvert and Wick knew one another. Officers say the incident between the two men was a very violent scene.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.

[UPDATE 5/4] -- Kennewick Police has identified the recent homicide victim as 76-year-old Clayton Wick of Kennewick.
The WSP Crime lab is still on scene processing the home.
Police say this is an active, ongoing investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Around 2:15 this afternoon, Kennewick police officers were called to a home in the 400 block of S. Buchanon St. after a housekeeper discovered a dead body.
Officials say there is reason to believe the death is not from natural causes and they are investigating this case as a homicide.
The identity of the victim has yet to be confirmed.
This is an ongoing investigation.
