Department of Energy to review worker safety concerns at Hanford Nuclear Site
HANFORD, Wash. - Oregon Senator Ron Wyden commended the Department of Energy for beginning a review into the recent chemical vapor exposures.
The Office of Inspector General is planning on reviewing the actions taken by the department to address worker concerns. The news release says over 40 workers have sought medical attention after reporting possible exposure to vapors.
Officials plan to begin fieldwork on the review Friday.
Senator Wyden said, "This is a good step toward providing the workers at Hanford with some assurance that someone is looking out for their safety."
