Domestic violence led to Kennewick double shooting, police say

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Police say they are following up with a person of interest after a shooting in Kennewick sent two men to the hospital in serious condition.

Kennewick Police (KPD) officers said just before 2 p.m., Sunday a man called 911 and said he'd been shot in the back. The two victims have been identified as Roberto Gomez JR, 33, and Simon Cordova, 32.

Officers arrived to find two women leaving the Buchanan Street apartments. Reports stated both had been assaulted and one of them needed medical attention.

Police believe the motive in this shooting is a domestic violence issue.

KPD said this is an active investigation and they're waiting to release the identity of the suspected shooter.

They told Action News they don't believe the person poses a threat to the public.
