PROSSER, Wash. -- Fire fighters say 60-80 people were displaced after an apartment fire forced power to be shut off at an apartment complex on Wine Country Road Monday evening.

Just before 6:30 PM, fire fighters received the call to 911 about a fire at 1855 Wine Country Road.

When they arrived, they found heavy smoke inside one of the apartments.

Fire fighters managed to evacuate everyone nearby and put out the fire quickly.

Only the original apartment suffered major smoke and fire damage.

Authorities say power needed to be cut to the building.

The Red Cross established a shelter for the residents impacted at the Bethany Presbyterian Church, 201 Birch, in Grandview.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

    Luckily, no one was hurt.
