Three injured in high-speed car crash, Walla Walla police investigate
WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Police are investigating an alleged high-speed car crash that left multiple people injured.
Reports from the Walla Walla Police Department said College Place man Miguel A. Cortez, 20, was speeding west on Rose Street at 9:23 p.m. Monday when his vehicle crashed into another vehicle at 9th Street.
WWPD said Cortez had been attempting to maneuver between two vehicles when the cars collided.
The crash then impacted a Valley Transit vehicle, according to police.
Cortez's car then crossed the median and hit a vehicle that was traveling in the other direction.
Witnesses said Cortez was driving at a very high speed when the wreck occurred.
Cortez and a woman in his vehicle were injured in this collision. Medics flew Cortez to Seattle for treatment and took his passenger to Providence St. Mary Medical in Walla Walla.
Reports said the Valley Transit driver also indicated he had a possible injury.
WWPD officers and the Washington State Patrol are investigating this crash.
