Edith Bishel Center for the Blind to host their annual Dinner in the Dark event
TRI-CITIES, Wash. - The Edith Bishel Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired will host their 13th annual dinner in the dark fundraiser event that will have their guest dining in the dark.
For one night guests can enjoy dinner while blindfolded and experience some of the daily challenges that those who have lost their vision face daily.
Leaders from the center say this event helps bring awareness about blindness with the proceeds from the event helping the center with community outreach.
“For a moment, each person getting in the shoes of somebody who is blind, doing what would be seemingly a simple daily task. So it’s just creating awareness and allowing people to experience what it is like to eat blindfolded,” says Daniel Lipparelli Executive Director Edith Bishel Center.
