Enterprise Middle School student denies school shooting plans
RICHLAND, Wash. - A 13-year-old student at Enterprise Middle School says he is not guilty of harassment after he was accused of making shooting threats.
The teen made an appearance in juvenile court Wednesday after police found probable cause to arrest him for felony harassment for threats he was accused of making towards students and teachers at Enterprise Middle School.
The suspect has denied making any plans to shoot up the school and he pleaded not guilty.
According to court documents, the suspect researched weapons and shootings for hours on his school-issued laptop.
Police said he tried to recruit help from two classmates, asking that they act as police lookouts.
The suspect is court-ordered on house arrest, and has no-contact orders for several individuals who were threatened in this case.
He was ordered to follow a safety plan with supervision from his mother at all times.
The teen is set to appear in court next week.
