BENTON COUNTY, Wash. — A family in Benton City is without a home after firefighters say an early morning blaze left the home a complete loss.
Fire crews with Benton County Fire Protection District #2 responded to a structure fire on Orcutt Road in Benton City around 4 a.m. on Sunday.
Firefighters tell Action News the reporting party made the call from the highway several miles away from the scene after seeing flames.
When crews arrived on scene the two story farm house was fully engulfed and the roof was gone.
Crews with West Benton Fire Rescue, Richland Fire Department, Benton County Fire District #4, and Benton County Sheriff's Office all responded to the structure fire.
Firefighters say while no one was home at the time of the fire two dogs escaped with burns.
Crews are investigating the cause of the fire.
