WEST RICHLAND, Wash. — With spring just around the corner, food truck nights are returning to the Tri-Cities.
Doggie Style Gourmet food truck owners, Andrew Chilton and Tanner Guy, said the first food truck night started last summer as a way to offer safe, socially distanced events once the pandemic hit.
Chilton and Guy said most of their events were canceled because of the pandemic and this was a way to keep it going.
The first food truck night of the year will be on Wednesday, Mar. 10 at Flat Top Park in West Richland featuring different food trucks.
"We're both excited about the Flat Top event since this whole COVID has restricted us from certain events, so we're definitely looking forward to this," Guy said.
Doggie Style Gourmet, Rollin Ice Cream and Fast and Curryous will be out from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. serving up their fan favorites.
"This is hopefully the start of outside events again and getting people outside and enjoying the summer," Chilton said. "It's already getting warm, so we're pretty excited about it.
Guy and Chilton said they hope they'll be able to keep this event running through summer and into fall once gathering restrictions start to lift.
"I think overall there's a good feeling moving into Phase 2," Chilton said. "Things are moving towards opening up a little bit more and it sounds like some other events around town could start back up again."
