Franklin Jail expansion delayed until March

PASCO, Wash. --- You agreed to pay for it, but KEPR learned the Franklin County Jail expansion could be delayed several more months.

Workers hoped construction would start this month, but the bidding process pushed the project back several months.

It will be too cold for construction to start in the winter, so work may have to wait until March.

More than 200 beds will be added.

The jail has been overcrowded for years.

As we've told you, it often houses double the number of prisoners it's supposed to hold.
