NEW ORLEANS, La. -- A Richland teacher has the souvenir of a lifetime after flying to New Orleans to watch the Seahawks take on the Saints.
Beth Eby Pierson is a paraeducator at White Bluffs Elementary School. When she and her husband arrived in New Orleans, they discovered the Seahawks were staying in the same hotel. Pierson made a giant "get out of class note" for Monday and Pete Carroll and the Seahawks all signed it for her.
Action News spoke with Pierson via Facetime in New Orleans Monday morning, she says the experience was a thrill.
"I kind of am a little outgoing so I had no problem telling them who I was, where I was from and if they could sign my note to get out of work on Monday. And, they loved that idea so I have about 25-30 signatures of staff, trainers, players and Pete Carroll actually."
She says despite the team's loss, it was a great game.
She plans to take the team's signatures into school with her later this week to share with her students.
