Hermiston PD: Shooting leaves man hospitalized with head wound
HERMISTON, Ore. - A man has been hospitalized after police say he had been shot in the head.
A report of gunshots came in to the Hermiston Police Department around 1:20 a.m., Monday, at the 500 block of W. Hartley Avenue.
Officers found a 26-year-old man, identified as Erik Campos Navarrete, with what police said appeared to be a significant gunshot wound to his head. Paramedics with Umatilla County Fire District 1 took Navarrete to Good Shepherd Hospital. The victim was later taken to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland.
Authorities continue to investigate this case.
Hermiston police are receiving assistance from multiple area agencies while the shooting investigation is underway.
