    Hermiston police looking for 11th Street Market armed robber

    HERMISTON, Ore. - Hermiston police are looking for the person who robbed a local market at gunpoint.

    Police searched the area minutes after the robbery was reported at 11:56 p.m., Thursday at the 11th Street Market, located at 425 NW 11th Street.

    Witnesses described the robber as a slender white man, standing between 5'6 and 6'. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a dark overcoat at the time of the incident.

    Reports said he demanded money while showing that he was carrying a gun. The store clerk gave him an unknown amount of money and the man ran away, heading south.

    Investigators said based on surveillance footage, the robber looks to be wearing a unique coat that could be similar to a Navy pea coat.

    They said he was also wearing black Nike shoes and a ring on the middle finger of his left hand.

    Hermiston police is asking anyone who recognizes the man or the clothing described to contact Lieutenant Randy Studebaker at 541-667-5095.
