WALLA WALLA, Wash. – A Walla Walla family is very upset after they said someone shot at their horses while driving by Wednesday morning.

“I was in panic, just complete panic,” Kaylee Trump said, when she saw the gunman. "All the horses freaked out and jumped," she said.

She ran inside the house to tell her mom and call the police.

“I could have been out here feeding, it could have easily hit me or anything else," she explained.

She said the shooter was only 20 yards away when they stuck the handgun out the passenger window.

"They were right there and then they shot once,” she said.

Luckily in Kaylee's case, no one was injured, but she's heard of other drive by shootings in the community where animals have been struck. She's thankful her horses are okay.

"This is Little P, short for Little Princess," Kaylee said as she stroked her horse. “She's my baby, I’d be very heart broken if something were to happen to her."

She describes the suspect’s truck as a dark colored, mid-90s Ford, with an old wooden flat bed.

“I hope we catch them so that way they don't harm anyone else's animals," she added.

She worries because wounds like this can be life threatening.

“So keep your eye out, hopefully we find the vehicle,” Kaylee said. “And never take your animals for granted, that’s for sure.”
