Kennewick dentist sending unwanted trick-or-treater candy to troops
KENNEWICK, Wash. - A Kennewick dentist is hoping to prevent a few cavities and support the troops at the same time.
Dr. Tyson Beck at Quail Ridge Dental is buying back candy your trick-or-treaters collect Wednesday night. He said he'll buy back candy for $1 per pound and then package it up and send it away for U.S. military troops that are away from their families.
Dr. Tyson is a veteran himself and said he remembers getting the sweet messages and treats different groups would send them.
Joan, the office manager at Quail Ridge, sent care packages to her son who served two tours in Iraq.
Dr. Tyson also says a little bit of candy is okay, but to keep your kids from going overboard, they can take it to Quail Ridge in exchange for cash.
