KENNEWICK, Wash. — Officers of the Kennewick Police Department have arrested a teen accused of being involved in a shooting.
On May 23, just before 1:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting that occurred in the area of W. Clearwater Ave. and N. Union St. in Kennewick.
Witnesses reported that an individual exited a vehicle and shot at another vehicle. KPD detectives interviewed witnesses and processed video evidence.
Around 3 p.m., officers found a 16-year old boy in the 4200 block of W. Albany in Kennewick and arrested him for suspicion of Assault in the First Degree. He has been booked into the Benton-Franklin Juvenile Justice Center.
On May 24, officers continued their investigation into the shooting incident. Detectives learned that occupants of two separate vehicles exchanged gunfire with each other. No one exited their vehicle during the exchange of gunfire.
One person believed to be involved in the shooting was treated for injuries at a local hospital and later released.
According to officers, the incident appears to be gang related.
