KPD: Man runs, jumps and even swims away from police over the weekend

KENNEWICK, Wash.

A man is now behind bars after police say he led officers on a long foot chase in Kennewick.

Kennewick Police say it all started when 25-year-old Dah Ler went into someone’s backyard, opened an unlocked back door, and attempted to go inside on the 1200 block of West Bruneau Ave.

Ler was confronted by the homeowner and then took off.

Officers found him along the nearby canal, where he then swam across the water, ran down the railroad tracks, and jumped several fences away from police.

The suspect was later caught and tased just before he climbed on top of a box truck.

Police arrested Ler for criminal trespassing, obstructing a police officer, and resisting arrest.
