Liberty Christian School adds new security measures, upgrades gym and weight room
RICHLAND, Wash. —
A small school in Richland officially welcomed some new changes to their facilities on Friday.
Liberty Christian School hosted a ribbon cutting for their new security measures.
The new features include a buzzer system at the front entrance and electronic card readers at other entrances.
Superintendent Jim Cochran says these will allow the school to remain secure during learning hours.
"The world we live in has really become more violent and we have a lot more of that that we face and so as schools and being responsible for these kiddos, that has to be a top priority."
The school also upgraded its gym with a new roof, safety padding and paint.
The weight room also moved to a new and bigger location in the school's basement.
