Live black bears visiting area with Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show

PASCO, Wash. — The 25th annual Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show is happening this weekend and Action News has a preview for you.

The Show brings more than 130 vendors to the area, filling all three sections of the TRAC in Pasco, and features everything from 3D archery to outdoor cooking camps and a fly-tying workshop, to the great Bear Show featuring live Black Bears.

But not to worry if you don't hunt, event promotor Merle Shuyler said.

There will be the usual abundance of big game on display, he said, but they have stuff for the outdoorsman or woman in all of us.

Schuyler said Kids Day, on Sunday, is his favorite.

He said every year he enjoys watching families at the fishing pond they erect in the middle of the arena.

"I had a lady come up to me a few years ago that said when she was six years old she caught her first fish ever in the kids fishing pond," he said. "Well she brought her six year old daughter to fish and her daughter caught her first fish in the pond as well. That was pretty cool."

The three-day event runs Friday through Sunday.

Kids six and younger get in free, and adults admission is $1 off with Military ID.
