KENNEWICK, Wash. — One karate school in Kennewick is stepping up to help teach women how to defend themselves and stay safe.
On March 5th, the Tri-Cities Kenpo Karate school held a free self-defense class for the women in our community.
In the class, ladies learned how to defend themselves in a series of real-life scenarios. Some of these include someone trying to grab them by the wrist, their hair, or their arm.
"It's our job to do our best to keep our ladies in our community safe. A lot of crazy stuff in this world right now and anything we can do to make sure our ladies get home safe to protect their children, that's what we're all about here at Tri-Cities Kenpo Karate," said head instructor, Archie Thompson.
Thompson said they hope to hold more self-defense classes throughout the year, or possibly even once a month.
