Loud boom heard in West Richland, Wash. caused by bomb squad detonating briefcase
West Richland residents heard a big boom on Saturday night after law enforcement detonated a briefcase left by the side of a road.
According to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, someone called in to report the suspicious briefcase along Kennedy Road around 6 P.M.
When they arrived, deputies were unable to determine the case's contents.
The bomb squad responded and detonated the briefcase just before 8:45 P.M., causing the boom.
The BCSO says no one was injured.
