BENTON COUNTY -- The Benton County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Brian Wilcox, 68, has been arrested for suspicion of First Degree Murder and First Degree Arson.
On May 2, 2022, around 4 PM the Benton County Sheriff’s Office received information that Wilcox was in Del City, Oklahoma. Detectives reached out to local law enforcement in Del City to let them know Mr. Wilcox was in their general area. Mr. Wilcox was located and arrested without incident on the Murder 1st degree and Arson 1st degree warrants.
Benton County detectives will work with the Prosecutor’s Office to begin the extradition process.

The body found inside his home has not been identified. However, court documents state that the body resembled his wife, Kathy. The Benton County Coroner's Office is still awaiting DNA results to provide an accurate identification.
Officials say they responded to the house fire on the 1400 block of Elm Street in Kennewick on the morning of April 25. After several hours, fire fighters entered the home to find the remains of one person.
According to court documents, Wilcox was seen at the bank at the time of the fire. He was driving a blue Mitsubishi SUV.
