More Hanford workers reported smelling odors near TX tank farm

Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) says more workers reported smelling odors near the TX tank farms at the Hanford Site Tuesday.

RICHLAND, Wash. - Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) says more workers reported smelling odors near the TX tank farms at the Hanford Site Tuesday.

The incident happened outside the TX tank farm, according to Rob Roxburgh, WRPS spokesperson. Two workers sought medical attention after reporting exposure to the odors Tuesday.

Access to the area has been restricted and authorities say they are investigating.

This is the latest development in reports of Hanford workers smelling odors near the tank farm.

Forty-eight workers in total, including the two reported Tuesday, have been evaluated for smelling odors near the tank farms since last week according to WRPS.

The Department of Energy (DOE) is currently collecting air samples to be analyzed.

Symptoms reported by previous workers include headache, burning nose and throat, nausea and dizziness.
