Multiple Agencies Fight Large Brush Fire Near Touchet

Firefighters battle blaze near Touchet

TOUCHET, Wash.-- Multiple agencies are fighting a large brush fire off Lamdin Road and Highway 12, near the Wallula Junction.

The fire broke out around 5pm Tuesday evening.

Several units were still working on the fire as of 9:15pm Tuesday night to create dozer lines.

At one point, the fire was classified as a 5-alarm fire.

The cause is still under investigation.

A gas plant is near the fire, but fire officials say it is not threatened at this time.

The fire is burning pasture grass.

No roads have been closed as a result.
