[UPDATE 4/29] -- Authorities have confirmed to Action News that the victim of Thursday afternoon's shooting was 17-year-old Ricardo Rivera.
Former classmates of Ricardo's have gone to social media to spread awareness about the tragic death of their friend. Friends tell us he was a student at Kamiakin High School.

KENNEWICK -- Detectives are investigating another homicide in Kennewick after a 17-year-old boy was shot Thursday afternoon.
The shooting happened in the area of North Rhode Island Court at 5:15 PM. The crime scene was located east of Steptoe. It is a block north of the McDonald's on Steptoe.
Officers reported that they were responding to a weapons complaint. As officers were on the way to the scene, police received reports of several people running away from the scene of the shooting.
When officers arrived, they found Ricardo Rivera suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics rushed Rivera to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Police surrounded the area and searched for suspects. Officers from Pasco, Richland and Benton County were on the scene. No suspects are in custody at this time.
The two shooting scenes are just a few hundred yards apart. No suspects have been caught in that shooting, either.
