KENNEWICK, Wash.—The City of Kennewick is pleading with the public to stay inside and off the roads to help emergency crews do their job.

City officials explained that due to the high number of cars getting stuck in snow, they are creating greater problem for crews who are trying to plow roads.

“City crews are working around the clock, focusing on the highest priority needs. As the weather has continued without a break in snow and with the wind causing snow drifts in some areas, our current focus is to keep at least one lane open in each direction on our arterials and also to focus on the residential areas where there are major snow drifts occurring so that emergency access is not significantly impacted,” the City of Kennewick released in a statement.
