Police looking for man in reckless driving, speeding incidents
KENNEWICK, Wash. - Police officers are asking for assistance in finding a man who continues to flee from police.
[Update, February 20] Reports said a police officer noticed a vehicle and driver, later identified as Joshua Bussell, parked in the area of W Canal Dr and N Buchanan Street, Tuesday.
When the officer attempted to pull the driver over, he drove away reaching speeds over 60 miles per hour and moved to the center lane. The officer followed him but stopped for the interest of public safety.
Police say this is the third time the suspect has sped away from police since February 14.
Kennewick Police Department reports said Joshua Bussell was driving with a suspended license just before 2 a.m., Wednesday near 10th and Hartford. Police said Bussell has a previous warrant for eluding police.
When police tried to stop the driver, Bussell sped away into oncoming lanes and disregarded traffic lights. Police decided not to chase him due to his reckless driving at high speeds.
Police found Bussell approximately 30 minutes after he fled in another vehicle at a home in the 2100 block of W 19th, where Bussell again drove away from police at high speeds.
According to reports, the suspect also turned his headlights off at times. Due to the nature of his driving, police again did not pursue him.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding Bussell or these incidents to call KPD at (509)628-0333. People can also call Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers.
