PASCO -- Action News has learned that arrest warrants have been issued for Edgar Salvador Casian-Garcia and Aracely Medina for the murder of 8-year-old Edgar Casian.

Arrest warrants have been issued for both Casian-Garcia and Medina.

"Based on evidence, based on interviews, we know that they were involved in Edgar's death," said Sergeant Rigo Pruneda with Pasco P.D.

Pasco police have now confirmed to Action News that Edgar's remains were found in rural Benton County in February. Through dental records, the remains were identified as that of Edgar Casian.

Police were searching for Casian in the Spring of 2021 after he had not been seen in several months and his parents claimed they don't know where he might be. Police say Edgar had not been seen since September of 2020 and was not reported missing for several months. Police say Edgar Salvador Casian-Garcia and Aracely Medina were not very cooperative in the initial investigation.

Arrest warrants had already been issued for Edgar Salvador Casian-Garcia and Aracely Medina for suspicion of 1st Degree Assault of a Child. The arrest warrants have been issued for the couple for the alleged abuse of Edgar Casian's two sisters. Court documents say the two girls, ages 9 and 3, were found in Mexico.

Court documents go into horrific detail about the girl's alleged claims of repeated abuse by Casian-Garcia and Medina.

In a forensic interview on June 14, 2021, the 9-year-old daughter said Casian-Garcia and Medina tied her up in the bathroom on multiple ocasions while she lived with them. She said the two would pour boiling water on her, which would cause severe burns to her hands and legs.

She said Casian-Garcia and Medina would also "drown" her in the bathroom. She said they would do this by grabbing the back of her head and shoving her face in the water. She said this caused her to feel like she couldn't breathe for a long period of time.

Police are trying to find Edgar Salvador Casian-Garcia and Aracely Medina. At this time, a Nationwide extraditable arrest warrant has been issued for Edgar Casian-Garcia and Araceli Medina for the First Degree Murder of Edgar Casian. Edgar Casian-Garcia and Areceli Medina’s current whereabouts are unknown. If you have any information reference their location or have contact with them, please contact local authorities and Det. Davis at davisj@pasco-wa.gov and reference PPD case #21-15039.

"We don't know their whereabouts, the last time that we physically saw them was when the child was reported missing in May," stated Sgt. Pruneda.
