KENNEWICK -- Kennewick Police detained four teenage boys after one of them allegedly flashed a gun near Kamiakin High School on Tuesday.
The incident happened at around 11:30 AM near the area of Clearwater and Arthur.
Police say four teenage boys were allegedly caught spray painting an object. The witness who confronted the boys claims that one of the boys pulled out a gun. All four boys were seen leaving the area and walking towards Kamiakin High School.
A Kennewick School Resource Officer acted quickly to place the school on lockdown. Several officers from the Kennewick Police Department and a Deputy with Benton County Sheriff's Office searched the area. The teens were located quickly and detained in the area of Edison and Hood Avenue. Police also recovered an object from one of the teens. We have not confirmed if the object was a firearm. The lockdown at Kamiakin was lifted as soon as the teens were caught.
Police continue the investigation. We will update this article with new information when we learn more.
