KENNEWICK, Wash. — Leaders from the Port of Kennewick are getting excited for the latest addition to Columbia Gardens Wine Village, with two vendors planning to open up shop within the next few weeks.
Frost Me Sweet and Swampy's Barbecue are slated to park food trucks in the newly-paved parking lot west of the site's murals.
Port leaders say they plan to have a total of six different vendors parked along the river when they're done.
Representative Tana Bader Inglima says she's anxious for the community to see everything they've done to make the area a spot where folks will want to spend time.
"It might be as soon as the end of the month, it might be shortly thereafter," she said. "They're just doing the finish-work and as soon as we're able to, the food trucks are anxious to get in. So we'll work to accommodate getting them in to the site as quickly as we possibly can."
Kennewick Garden's Wine Village is part of an ongoing project by the Port of Kennewick to revitalize unused riverfront property between the Blue and Cable Bridges.
