BENTON COUNTY, Wash. - Firefighters are sending out a warning that brush in the Benton County area is drying out creating higher fire danger.

Fire leaders from Benton County Fire District #1 have raised the fire danger level from moderate to high for June 13 until Wednesday, June 19.

Fire marshals said when the rating is high some wildfires are likely and will be difficult to control under windy conditions.

They said public outdoor burning is not permitted except for legal recreational fires within a metal fire ring.
