Richland educators, district reach tentative agreement on teacher pay
RICHLAND, Wash. - Richland educators have reached an agreement on a three-year teacher contract after negotiations with the district to increase educator's salary.
The district announced Monday the Richland Education Association (REA) will vote whether to approve the tentative agreement Wednesday, August 22.
Superintendent Rick Schulte said the agreement brings the Richland School District closer to focusing on the students.
“The teams from the district and REA worked hard to draft a sustainable contract that will help the district retain and attract great teachers,” Schulte said.
REA President Ken Hay says the teachers are indebted to the negotiators in crafting a new salary schedule.
