Sale of Trios Health is finalized
KENNEWICK, Wash. —
In just a few hours Trios Health will officially have new owners.
The joint venture between RCCH Healthcare and UW Medicine is taking effect at 12:01 a.m.
Leaders from the new owner group called the combination of RCCH and UW Medicine is 'a unique, public-private partnership' and said they're excited to improve and expand the healthcare options available in Kennewick.
The takeover is a key provision in the bankruptcy organization plan, but RCCH Marketing VP Jeff Atwood told Action News they're not looking at recent economic struggles as a liabilty.
Instead he said they're focusing on the beautiful facility and a growing community.
He said they'd like to eventually add services and specialties our area is lacking.
"You've got a hospital that's been challenged, we can come in and shore that up with our partner U-W Medicine, and help move some things forward from a clinical and safety standpoint. And then we can invest whatever needs to be invested to expand the service offerings that are there."
Atwood said eventually they plan to adjust current signage to say "Trios Community Health, A UW Medicine Community Health Partner", but for the most part everything else is going to look the same.
