KENNEWICK, Wash. – People are stocking up on food across the state because of the snowstorms and ugly roads.
It was a busy day at Kennewick’s Yoke’s today--many people filling their carts with food for the weekend.
Shoppers said they'd rather have food on-hand in case the roads are too bad to go out.
"All the snow is going to get packed, we think, so we're getting prepared--we're buying baked potatoes and other things to help us survive this crazy winter,” said Logan, helping his mom get groceries.
“I’m just stocking up, literally, for these next few days of snow,” shopper Arleta Tonning said. “We're trying to get ready so we can stay home and stay hunkered in."
Yoke’s manager said they have plenty of food stocked, but the rock salt and pellets are quickly flying off the shelves.
