A man is behind bars this morning, after he allegedly shoplifted and sprayed pepper spray at multiple employees in Kennewick.

Kennewick Police arrived at Sportsman’s Warehouse on west canal drive yesterday, where police found 46-year-old Brian Hughes and Lavandre Sabb detained by some of the store's employees.

The staff told police they were able to keep the two suspects in a room, even after getting sprayed by pepper spray.

Sabb was booked into Benton County Jail for assault and theft, and Hughes was admitted to a local hospital for unrelated medical issues.

Charges are expected later today.
