YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. - Troopers say a 24-year-old Sunnyside man is dead in a crash with a semi early Wednesday morning.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), Jesus Cohetzaltitla was driving a Nissan pickup north at State Route 241 near Sunnyside around 5:30 a.m. when a semi truck turned onto southbound 241 from a driveway.

Troopers said the semi's trailer had not cleared the northbound lane when Cohetzaltitla's pickup struck the trailer. Another driver heading north on 241 then hit both vehicles in a Ford Escape SUV.

Cohetzaltitla died at the scene, according to WSP.

The SUV driver, 62-year-old Randall Adkins, of Prosser, was injured and taken to Prosser Memorial Hospital.

The semi driver, 34-year-old Rafael Verduzco, of Sunnyside, was not injured, according to reports.

Troopers say this crash is under investigation.
