WALLA WALLA, Wash. - This year marks the 44th annual Walla Walla Balloon Stampede, making it the third longest balloon rally in the United States.
Action News was lucky enough to catch a ride with one of the pilots on his air balloon this morning overlooking the great scenery over the city of Walla Walla.
Pilot Jeff Beebe, says he was hooked ever since he first volunteered at a hot air balloon festival 15 years ago.
Now a certified pilot and hot air balloon enthusiast Jeff says he does these events for pure fun.
"I don’t do paid rides so much; I just do it for fun and games. I do actively instruct people to introduce other people into the sport and get them in this activity," says Jeff Beebe.
The 44th annual Walla Walla Balloon Stampede continues with 7:15 a.m. flights through Sunday at Howard-Tietan Park for more info https://wallawallaballoonstampede.com/event-schedule/
