TRI-CITIES, Wash. - A local filmmaker is calling for hundreds of people to be extras in the first movie to be entirely filmed in the Tri-Cities.

Michael Charboneau, producer and director of Turn it Up, said he is looking for extras including kids at Richland Rollarena, young adults at a house party, kids cruising at the drive-in, preppy youth at a church dance and hundreds of people for a day-long music festival at Howard Amon Park.

Charboneau said acting experience is not required but participants must dress in an 80s wardrobe.

According to a press release, the film was written based on "mostly true" events from the childhood of the Tri-Cities native.

Filming starts in mid-September.

The directors is encouraging anyone who would like to get involved to sign up at the movie's website or email production@turnitup-movie.com

Those interested in participating can also follow updates on the Turn it Up film at their Facebook page.
