KENNEWICK, Wash. — A new entertainment center for families is coming to the Tri-Cities.
It's called the 'iPlay Experience' and is the brainchild of a group of local parents who say they saw a need.
The founders say they'll have something for everyone.
Two indoor playgrounds, accessible play equipment, a sensory sand table, interactive games and even a state-of-the-art virtual reality experience.
Griselda Gallegos on the management team says they wanted to create somewhere kids can make the most of their energy, especially during winter when they're stuck inside.
She says they're excited to show the community what they have to offer, and they hope our community will support them.
"It is very scary," she admitted. "But we trust in everything we're doing."
Gallegos says the center will encourage socialization, engaging children in creative activities and interactive games where they'll use their imagination.
"We really think it's going to work because children need more physical activities," she said. "We think it's a great experience for them."
Organizers say they're working to create an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
They say grownups will be welcome to play the games as a family, though they're welcome to relax in the on-site coffee shop complete with a unique menu.
Gallegos says they're working on a grand-opening celebration with the Chamber of Commerce.
She says they're planning to have the space up and running before the end of February, with updates posted to their Facebook page as details fall into place.
