Tri-Cities theft victim has father's ashes stolen during car prowl
WEST RICHLAND, Wash. -- Police are trying to track down a car prowl suspect who stole the ashes of the victim's loved one.
Police say the crime occurred sometime between the hours of 12 PM and 6 PM on Saturday, August 22.
The victim told police that someone entered their vehicle that was parked in the area of Royal Crest Loop and West Van. Giesen Street. The victim told police that the suspect stole their navy blue cap and gown. Inside the cap and gown were the ashes of the victim's father.
The ashes were in a silver heart container.
Police say that the victim does not wish to press charges if the ashes are returned. Police say, "Her father means more to her than anything else."
